To the folks who try to shun Sinners because of how it destigmatized hoodoo, you may want to chill because that same Hoodoo may have been used to protect your lineage in the past and currently. Religion/spirituality was used as a refuge and as a form of rebellion against their oppression. To shelter in the face of terror and to hide away what others sought to destroy. Customs, language, techniques, practices, martial arts and culture. Everything that we treasured, which kept us connected to where we were stolen from and connected to  each other, had to be protected by engraining it into practices not for assimilation purposes, but for survival. Judging folks for wanting to learn more about their history, their lineage, and the practices that their people did to protect themselves isn’t the move. In fact, it should be admired. To lump everything that you don’t understand into a big pot of “demon stew” , displays a fundamental misunderstanding of who your people were and how nuanced the conversation truly is.

When you stop looking at the practice as taboo and start looking at it as a robust toolset that they continued to rely upon for means of protection in the physical space and the spiritual space, you will see just how ingenious our ancestors were. From the slaves having to codify an entire martial art in Capoeira by incorporating dance as a front facing deflection to the training that they were doing. To the herbalist who went to church all the time and prayed for others, but everyone in the community knew to go to them because they had a cure for any ailment. To the silent grandmother who hummed hymns at every service, but also would fix black eyed peas every new year as a sigil of prosperity and protection for her family.  I’m sure that there are plenty of “traditions” that your family does today that’s rooted in that world, but the story was lost. It went from “this is what I knew how to do and did it to protect my people” to “idk, it’s just something that my gradma used to do all the time. I never bothered to ask ‘why’”.

Don’t sell your people short. You may not be into the tools that they utilized to get them out of the hell that they lived through, but it was by those tools that they made a way. And it’s probably by those same tools that you’re making it too.

2004 by YG will hopefully be a catalyst for more people to take sexual assault against men more seriously. Too many times, we’ve seen men’s trauma trivialized and joked about like its a “badge of manhood” to be assault by an older woman. Hell, if you check the comments section whenever a teacher does that to their students, we see these dusty, dark pee ass weirdos flood the comments with “man, i wish that was me”. Then, if a man actually speaks about their experiences in the proper light, then their sexuality gets questioned, further victimizing the victim as if he was supposed to be ok with being victimized.

No, men can be and have been victims. They were victimized. If it happened to you, you were victimized. It’s not some hallmark accomplishment. A predator took advantage of you and society made you think that this type of predatory behavior was ok to experience. In fact, it was something to be celebrated and revered.

It was not ok then and it’s not ok now.

Go to therapy.

Watching a candidate base his campaign on inflation and getting the prices down while heavily promoting tariffs, which causes inflation was one thing.

Then that same candidate is elected and convinces his base that inflation is good, after he chastised the other party about that same inflation and ran his campaign based on that;

Then seeing that same candidate, now elected official, start doing mass layoffs to government jobs under the guise of “fraud” with no evidence citing the fraud or horribly misrepresenting the data that they’re finding and citing as “fraud”;

Then this same candidate, now elected official, is also cutting social programs and food banks while inflation, tariffs and mass layoffs are happening, (which are things in which he directly caused or has negativity influenced) but claims that this will help the American people;

Then his base attempting to defend tariffs when a vast majority of economists have already stated that they don’t work AND he tried this in his last presidency and not only did it NOT WORK, he had to bail out our farmers because of its failure.

Now, instead of the outcome that he is probably seeking (manufacturing jobs coming back to the US and countries yielding to the US’ demands), now you have countries putting in a concerted effort to not only strengthen their economies to thrive without US influences, you also have nations cliquing up and partnering with one another to fill in the gaps that the US left open. Not to mention the direct impacts that the closure to the Department of Education will have on families that live in rural America since their funding and resources were provided by…. The Department of Education, the same populous that was targeted to vote said person in. Even more laughable is that our education system is already behind and severely underfunded from a salary perspective, a curriculum perspective and a resource perspective ON THE STATE LEVEL. So turning it over to the states, when the states were already in control of a vast majority of these items and were utilizing the funds that received from the very department that they closed to support these failing systems, is…. A choice.

The lower class looking to the upper class to save them from the issues that the upper class caused, while the upper class looks at the lower class as the cause of those issues. Which is why their solutions have revolved around downsizing and privatization. They do it with their companies all the time so why not do it with the government?

Cutting off your nose to spite your face isn’t enough to describe this. This is cutting off your leg because of the wrong toenail polish.

American Exceptionalism has truly done a number on its people. Belevolent capitalism is what many people in this country worship.

Don’t let anyone tell you that propaganda doesn’t work.

Cory Booker’s filibuster, while impressive, was performative.

Jasmine Crockett’s antics, while entertaining, are also performative.

Just as performative as the photo with the democrats dressed in kente cloth taking a knee. Just as symbolic as “Black Lives Matter” being painted on a street.

Please don’t get caught up in the grandstanding and hotdogging of the democrats and confuse “performance” with “progress”, “theater” with “threats”, or “antics” with “action”. Pointing to the issue and saying “that’s an issue” is the only thing that they’ve been doing for almost 4 months now and shows that they are in dire straits. Instead of them owning up to their mistakes and changing the party, they are doubling down on the “show how bad Trump is” card.

Don’t let the democrats play in your face yet again and let them off the hook for their abject failures that they’ve displayed time and time again over the years. Don’t let them get away with refusing to listen to the people and not genuinely caring about their concerns. Don’t let them off the hook for constantly placating to Republicans’ demands and putting corporate interests ahead of the people who put them in office. Don’t allow them to forget about the embarrassing loss that they took this past election cycle because they refused to change course at the proper time.

Demand that they fix shit in their own house first. You don’t need 25 hours to tell them that.

So we are 3 months in and we already have war plans and operations being spoken about in a group chat, where a journalist was added to and removed themselves from. Then, the journalist proceeded to write an article with screenshots of the chat. Then, the administration proceeds to attempt to discredit the journalist, despite the hard evidence. Then, the same administration proceeds to lie under oath about the contents of the group chat where we can see what was talked about. Then, the same journalist spins the block with another article with all of the screenshots from the group chat, proving further that they lied under oath.

Now it has been discovered that the private data and passwords of Senior U.S. Security Officials like Mike Waltz, Tulsi Gabbert, Pete Hegseth and others were leaked online.

Also, there’s now a lawsuit against the Trump Administration because of them using the Signal App, an app that deletes messages after a set period of time, because it raises legal questions on if it violates federao record preservatuon laws or the Espionage Act.

I understand that a large swath of MAGA and MAGA adjacent folks enjoy the wanton destruction of systems and processes, but there is this thing called “checks and balances” that’s supposed to mean that when one branch of the government runs rampant and violate laws, regulations and the constitution, the other branches will step in to regulate matters and ensure that doesn’t happen.

Also, for the MAGA and MAGA adjacent folks, this should (keyword: should) be a glaring red flag because you, of all people, shouldn’t want your elected officials to be speaking of confidential information in something as insecure as a group chat. Because you know that if the democrats were to do this, you would be shouting from the rooftops that this was a violation of the American people’s trust. Hold your mans accountable….but you probably won’t because “owning the libs”, “DEI” and whatever other buzzwords or phrases that you want to cling onto is too important. Watching people lose their livelihoods and laughing about it while attempting to do a horrible false equivalency by comparing folks losing their government jobs due to this administrations antics is comparable to folks who were actively discriminating or being racist losing their jobs. It only shows a glaring, fundamental misunderstanding of “DEI” and only shows that you are using it as an excuse for your antiquated viewpoints and your sub-mediocre skillset being the reasons why you haven’t elevated to levels that you feel that your skin tone should have given you.

And I haven’t even started on how Elon is playing in your faces, how billionaires are playing in your faces by telling you thay public services are detrimental to the public and privatizing it is a positive, and now due to the mass deportation of illegal immigrants, you now have some states rolling back child labor laws. I stated before that America was a nation of haters. That has become abundantly clear. However, another thing has dawned on me.

America also has a significant group of people that believe that the more money that a person has, the more divine, benevolent and all knowing that they are, so they actually push for billionaires to have positions of influence because they THINK they know better without them having to actually PROVE that they do. It’s a fusion of the “Great Chain of Being” hierarchical structure with plutocracy. Since God “made” this person rich, this person should lead the people since he’s rich. Idolatry at its core. Late stage capitalism in full effect, but some are so devoted to capitalism, the very mention of other economic systems will make their heads spin. They will willingly go down with the ship instead of looking/asking for solutions in neighboring boats.

On the bright side, we have a clearer indication on what time period you were referring to when you say Make America Great Again: anytime prior to 1938, since that’s when the Federal Labor Standards Act was enacted. Also, goes along with the racism, sexism, economic state, extremist rhetoric, gestures and allegories, increasing unemployment and rumors of wars.

You all are never beating the cult allegations. At this point, you wear it as a badge of honor.

Pathetic. Laughably pathetic.

3/4

Hey, just wanted to provide everyone with some info. This isn’t meant to be fear mongering or doomerism. Just an observation that I would like to call:

“Double back like a deluxe”

With the last soliloquy that I went on spoke about, the current layoffs that were happening in the government and what to expect in the job market if you’re looking to pivot. Well, back on February 26th, NBC reported that there’s going to be another wave of layoffs happening to that sector so the time to pivot isn’t “now” but “right now”. However, there’s one aspect that i didn’t cover that folks can go into and that’s the dreaded “E” word. That’s right… Entrepreneurship.

The reason why I didn’t bring this up prior because there’s many folks that have ran this word into the ground over the years through LLC talk and treating this as a get-rich-quick scheme instead of addressing it honestly and forthcoming. There are some things that folks don’t highlight regarding entrepreneurship and I want to put this in all caps:

NOT EVERYONE IS INTERESTED IN BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR AND THAT’S OK!

ENTREPRENEURSHIP REQUIRES SPECIFIC SKILLS THAT FOLKS MAY NOT HAVE AND THAT’S OK!

ENTREPRENEURSHIP IS HARD AND THAT’S OK! (well, not really but anyway…)

IF EVERYONE WAS AN ENTREPRENEUR THEN THERE WOULD BE NO ONE WORKING FOR THEIR BUSINESSES!

QUIT PUSHING ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROPAGANDA IF ALL YOU’RE SELLING ARE COURSES THAT TEACH PEOPLE HOW TO BECOME AN ENTREPRENEUR!

IF YOU ARE AN ENTREPRENEUR AND YOU ONLY PUSH YOUR PRODUCT/SERVICE TO FRIENDS AND FAMILY, THEN YOU ARE A BURDEN, NOT A BUSINESSOWNER!

Now that we have that straightened out, the component that folks should be looking into, especially if you have certifications, education and experience is consulting.

These certifications, degrees and experience that you’ve been racking up over the years will not only serve you in the job space, it can also serve you in other areas. Many companies may be laying folks off, but the work that’s left needs to get done by someone. And in that is your opportunity. In some instances, you can double back to that business/corporation, not as an employee, but as a consultant charging your own rate and using your own time to do the same work that you’ve been doing. When I tell you that this is something that you can use to your advantage during these weird times in the job market, man listen.

For example, with the company that I work for, there’s a consultant who does the same work that I do, but they have 30+ years of experience and more certifications in the field. You know how much he charges for his services?

$300/hour.

For the same thing that I can do. Having client calls go until the 31 minute mark so he can mark that hour in. And that’s just for one client. Who knows how many other clients that they work with.

There are many people that have specialized skills that require certifications and education, worked for a company for decades, got laid off and doubled back to that same company as a consultant doing the same work, but for more money, more time, and work with more customers from the comfort of their home.

Pivoting is more than just finding new areas of expertise. It can also be revisiting old areas under a new banner. Taking risks is all part of the game, but you don’t need a brick-and-mortar or some fancy headquarters to operate out of. You got the paperwork and you’ve been doing the work. That allows you to step back into the realm with even more leverage that you can rely on and you don’t have to limit yourself to just one client. All from the comfort of your home or some area that you choose to operate from in case you treat your home like a sanctuary (and that’s ok).

You have these tools for a reason and since the rules of the game keep changing, then we must change with them.

That’s all I got. Monster Hunter Wilds is calling my name.

“he didn’t play any of the hits”

No, he didn’t play any of the hits that YOU wanted to hear. With the exception of the first song, Man in the Garden and Peekaboo, the rest of the songs were some of his biggest hits from DAMN until now.

“the dancers were spelling out *insert headass conspiracy theory* in the middle of the set.”

No, they were just in their positions in preparation for the next set.

“He doesn’t have the catalog for a halftime show”

Refer to point 1. HUMBLE just became the first rap song ever to go Double Diamond, but please regale us on how this beef was the start of his career.

“this halftime show was revolutionary”

No. Please stop using that word.

“Kendrick should have brought gang members out to make a statement”

😐

“Kendrick should have did Alright/did something to demand change”

No. That’s YOUR job to do. If your activism relies on a celebrity to become your catalyst, then your activism is performative. As Kendrick has already stated, he is not your savior. You know what needs to be done. Turn your tv off, go outside and do something/donate somewhere/start something/talk to someone. Scary ass.

Aye, this isn’t a warning, doomer language or anything in between. Just raising awareness.

If you’re counting on the Democrats to save you when the midterms come around, then you seriously haven’t been paying attention to the breadcrumbs. For a decade plus, the left has slowly crept over to right wing ideology with consistent compromises that went against their voters’ interests and openly embraced corporate dollars to heavily influence policy. The democratic party that has been marketed is entirely different, and diametrically opposed, to the party that’s in place. Right now, Elon Musk has created a SuperPAC that’s geared towards the democratic party. However, the rhetoric and direction will be focused on putting money behind the most right leaning democrats, pushing the line further right.

Folks want to tell themselves that the moves being made are from a man who has no idea what he’s doing and that’s the problem. You’re placing too much focus on the man and not the plan that’s being enacted and how to combat it. I understand that people are throwing the word “oligarchy” around and they’re missing the plays in other areas. As I said previously, QUIT THINKING THAT YOU’RE BATTLING A SNAKE AND START THINKING THAT YOU’RE BATTLING A HYDRA.

Until you as an individual and as a voting bloc start coming to grips with your L, actually analyze what’s been happening, is currently happening, what’s coming on the horizon and how to effectively pivot, expect worse results in 2 years.

If you haven’t already started building viable alternatives OFFLINE, then you need to start. If you haven’t started working with local orgs OFFLINE, then you should.

But hey, this is just the thoughts of a person who prefers oatmeal raisin cookies over chocolate chip cookies so don’t pay me no mind.

Cherry pop tarts are trash.

While I do find it chuckle worthy that some of the MAGA base is starting to realize that they got finessed and that this visa issue is hilarious, I do want to highlight the unfortunate consequences of being the scapegoat. We are seeing now how the Indian community are simultaneously being uplifted as the model minority and being the scapegoat for why there are no tech jobs.

The racist memes and harassment have already started and soon, the hate crime rate against Indians will increase as well, similar to how Asians were the scapegoat during Covid; Mexicans being the scapegoat for the unemployment rate currently; Arabs/Muslims were the scapegoat in the aftermath of 9/11; and how black people are used as the scapegoat continuously. When it comes to maintaining white supremacy, it ALWAYS starts off as a joke, until it’s not. Jim Crow was a “joke”. Those harmful stereotypes were “jokes”. Then those “jokes” turned into vitriol, which then turned into laws, and then turned into violence. That’s why its crucial to call it out at its inception, rather than allowing it to breathe. Now, you’re seeing a few memes. Then the rhetoric will start shifting. So on and so forth.

The system will do whatever it takes to protect its image of dominance and throw whoever they can under the bus to keep everything going. One can point to classism as our main issue but to do that will be to willfully ignore the fact that America’s very foundation is on racism and the upliftment of whiteness, not as a people, but as a construct. Unity is, of course, the solution but if all of these communities, (Indian, Arab, Mexican, white, Asian, liberal, conservative, and many others) don’t deal with their anti-blackness in every facet of their own group, unity, regardless of class, will remain impossible.

Regardless of the outcomes, the work doesn’t stop.

So work..

12/17/24

Just as a reminder:

DEI = Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is based on the history and actions that this nation has done to disenfranchised communities. Lending additional support and opportunities to those communities NOT by picking them based on their skin color, but by selecting the most qualified individuals from those groups to those opportunities. Before, those groups weren’t represented properly and now they are.

Similar to “woke”, DEI is being used as a code word for non-white/non-white supremacy . If you ask these people what does “woke” mean, they don’t even know, but when its used, its for anything that’s against white supremacy regardless of if they realize it or not. DEI is more on-the-nose because it allows the user to point at minority groups and deem them as unqualified based on their race without outwardly stating that. It provides a cover to hide behind as they argue for a meritocracy that they, themselves, don’t even believe in. It also allows them to point to a cause, an action,, an event, an organization, even something as harmless as a company promoting an employee or a product, label it as “DEI” to discount, discredit, and disregard it altogether.

It’s important to call this type of behavior out whenever you see it so the harm will always remain front-facing. Bad actors want you to become desensitized by the overusage and mischaracterization of the phrase so their definition will become the new definition. The co-opting of words, acronyms and phrases is another tool that the system uses to infiltrate and strip you of your language and culture to reframe it as their own, devoid of any remnants of its origin. Colonization that leads to infiltration that leads to assimilation that leads to evisceration, and ultimately gentrification.

Don’t allow folks to play in your face.

Don’t allow folks to play with your language. Don’t allow folks to play with your culture.

11/6/24

Let’s start from the start now that I’ve gotten some sleep.

No it wasn’t because of 3rd party voters. There wasn’t enough to make a difference

No it wasn’t because of pro Palestinian protests. Vast majority of Americans on both sides don’t care about what goes on beyond our borders (on top of that, some of those same protestors are silent regarding other genocides happening at the same time, but 🤷🏾‍♂️)

No it wasn’t because of black men. They voted the same way as they always have

You already know it wasn’t black women

No it wasn’t because of Latino voters. Despite gains for Trump, the true number is still muddled.

The blame is where it’s always been. No matter how the democratic party tries to skirt away from it and no matter how the primary demographic tries to point their fingers as if they don’t know their own folks, it’s where it’s always been. I don’t need to say it. The numbers are shouting it for me.

Before I went to sleep, I thought that this would be the death nail of neoliberalism. It’s not going to be. The takeaway for the dems will be to go more right. Some minority groups will aspire to whiteness until the beast ultimately turns on them. Black people will be left holding the bag, yet again, while being demanded to save a state, a country that doesn’t love, nor want them. A story as reoccurring as a season of the Simpsons.

Use the coming days to find your community. Use the coming months to prepare. Use the coming years to build. But use today to rest.

Throw on some Samara Joy and rest.

Btw, you can keep that POC nonsense. It’s black people and everyone else.

11/4/24

….. I don’t think that Trump, and many people, know how tariffs work. The consumer is ultimately harmed by tariffs because IMPORTERS PAY THE TARIFFS AND THE CONSUMER PAY HIGHER PRICES BECAUSE OF THE HIGHER COSTS OF THE IMPORTS.

Imposing up to a 100% for goods imported from Mexico, which is Texas’ largest trade partner, would significantly hamper Texas’ economy. This would increase the price of automobiles, auto parts, electronics, produce (avocados also) and anything else that’s imported from Mexico.

Original price + tariff = price that US consumer would have to pay. Not a wise policy to raise prices further when people are already complaining about the prices that they’re paying now.

Plus other countries can view tariffs being placed on them as means for retaliation.

Shortened version: tariffs are bad for US consumers.

10/25/24

Here’s the links to both candidates’ policies for the next 4 years.

If you want to include Project 2025 for Trump’s policies, you can add that. If you want to include policies that Kamala has flip flopped on, you can add that to hers.

This election cycle is not about Republican vs Democrat. It’s about far right vs neoliberalism with a sprinkle of progressive and a chunk of right wing. American citizens truly have no idea about just how far-right our political parties have been pushed over the years. You have one candidate talking about arresting folks that oppose him and defunding schools that teach slavery while you have the other candidate backtracking her stance on fracking and the border wall while also wanting to increase funding for the military in an effort to make herself more “moderate” while both are sticking to their policy on supporting Israel by sending them weapons and aid. When we are arguing over what level of fascism that we’re willing to tolerate, you gotta take a step back and access the situation. When we are willing to support a candidate that’s willing to omit American history because it makes people uncomfortable, you REALLY need to question who you support and do a deep dive into if you’re as “supportive” of other races’ experiences as you think you are, but we will save the status regarding “allyship” for another day. We will just stick to calling folks out who are staying silent on this blatant disregard of history in favor of, for lack of a better term, white comfort.

That’s why I don’t really fault folks for abandoning this system altogether. If you have one party who is playing in your face then you have another party who’s playing in your face while pointing at the opposing party and saying that they’re playing in your face, who do you really trust? When imperialism is the standard, is there really a good choice? When genocide of all things is a moot point, then the bar is already in hell.

We’ve been “lesser eviling” for almost a decade. While there are policies that are extremely problematic, you can’t argue that we’ve been spinning our wheels in place for years now with no progress on either end. We can argue for third parties but if the ones that already exist don’t get supported or get actively shot down before they even get a chance to build something that can actually challenge the status quo, then the truth is that its citizens don’t really want change either. Truth is, the American citizens have gotten complacent. They want change but not at the expense of comfort. They want aid but if that same aid goes to someone that may be a different color than them, regardless of circumstances, history, or nuance, they will reject the system entirely. It’s a sickness of the highest order.

If the American citizens actually want something to change in their politics, then the people need to fight for that change by challenging their lawmakers at every level of government to fight for their citizens. You can’t allow your votes to be just that. You also can’t allow your inaction to be just that. Educate yourselves on the political process. This cycle really highlighted just how ignorant people are when it comes to the political system, the duties of the VP, and the duties of the branches of government. If you vote, hold your candidates accountable who are in office. If you don’t vote, hold the candidates accountable that are in office. Criticize the candidates who arent doing what they said they would do for your interests. Don’t allow folks to shame you for offering critique because they’re too cowardly to speak against the candidate/representative that they like. It’s OK. These candidates aren’t going to demote you or key your car because you offered critique. They’re supposed to work for you. You don’t work for them. And if someone who works for you isn’t doing the job that you hired them for, you don’t promote them in hopes of them getting it right the next time. You put their asses on the clock to do what they were put there for. If they don’t do it, you kick them out and get someone in that position that will do it.

If you want a third option, support an existing one that aligns with your ideals or create one yourself. If you want to have a political vehicle that can be utilized to fund the candidates that you want so they can be more incentivized to support your policies, create a PAC. If you want to divorce yourself from the political process entirely, build up your community. There’s always something that you can be doing that can lead to a better impact. I’m sure that there are people you may know personally who are more versed in the political process that can put you on game and inform you on what’s the best avenue to take for your particular interests.

Don’t allow the next 4 years to be like the last 8 years. Educate yourself, take risks, and don’t be afraid to challenge power, especially when you put them there.

10/23/24

So, the election is in two weeks and you aren’t really sure who to vote for. Well, this post… Isn’t for you.

Because this post is about the issues that will be on the ballot in MO that will directly or indirectly affect you or your tax dollars. Here are the Amendments that will be on the ballot for MO voters in November:

Amendment 2 – Do you want the MO Constitution to allow MO Gaming Commission to regulate licensed sports wagering and mobile licenses to Sports betting operators, restrict the betting to individuals physically located in the state to over the age of 21 and have a 10% wagering tax on revenues received to be appropriated for education?

Shorthand: do you want MO to regulate mobile licenses for sports betting?

Amendment 3: Do you want the MO Constitution to establish a right to make decisions about reproductive health care, including abortion and contraceptives, with any governmental interference of that right presumed invalid, remove MO Ban on abortion and allow regulation of reproductive health to improve or maintain the health of patient?

Shorthand: do you want MO to lift the ban on abortion?

Amendment 5: Do you want the MO Constitution to issue one additional gambling boat license on the portion of the Osage River from the MO River to Bagnell Dam and state revenues appropriated to early-childhood literacy programs in public institutions of elementary education?

Shorthand: do you want another Casino Queen on the Osage River?

Amendment 6: Do you want the MO Constitution to provide that the admin of justice include the levying of costs and fees to support salaries and benefits for certain current and former law enforcement personnel (sheriffs, prosecuting attorneys, and circuit attorneys)?

Shorthand: do you want those fees to pay for law enforcement salaries? Artificial raises

Amendment 7: Do you want the MO Constitution to only allow US Citizens to vote, prohibit ranking of candidates by limiting voters to a single vote per candidate and plurality winner of a political party primary to be the single candidate to be the single candidate at general election

Shorthand: do you want US citizens to vote and for the winner of the primary to be the candidate at general election (probably to prevent Kamala’s ascension from happening again)

Prop A: Increase minimum wage from 13.75 to 15 per hour by 2026

Shorthand: keep the increase going even though the ideal minimum wage should be $24 an hour

Election day is more than just for the presidency. It’s for moulding your state’s funding and legislation for years to come. Laws that directly affect our loved ones and amendments that my cause other issues. Don’t be blindsided by things and haphazardly choose something that you may not have a proper understanding of. Be an educated voter, if you choose to vote. Don’t allow the media to mould your viewpoints when they’re only showing one side of an issue.

10/11/24

After giving it some more time, I completely understand the criticism that Port Antonio is receiving. If 7 Minute Drill didn’t exist then this would be a bigger sell, but it does exist. Some of his reasoning in this song only works if that song didn’t exist. But it does. You can’t say that the reason why you took it back was because you didn’t mean it or it didn’t feel right in your spirit and then say that you bowed out because you saw where it was going. Either you were lying then or you’re lying now.

Then the gun metaphor that you used, while great, is also weakened because 7 Minute Drill exists. You had a gun, you shot, and folks clowned you because it was a Derringer that misfired. Over here looking like the dude shooting the little gun in Harlem Nights. “Don’t shoot that little motherf**ker no more”.

But then if the song didn’t exist, your point of neutrality wouldn’t work because you specifically shouted out Drake and not Kendrick. No one would even know if you guys were even good if you hadn’t apologized. It would have been a lull between first-person shooter and your current features with no word. Him also encouraging Drake like your friend who’s about to crash out after an ass whooping but you’re telling him to get back to what’s important…is a choice. Optics are indeed interesting.

You also can’t come back and say that you wouldn’t have lost the battle since 1. 7 Minute Drill does exist and 2. You quit. That’s that “I would have won if my controller wasn’t broken” logic. Loser talk. A better phrase would be something like “it wasn’t just a battle” or something similar to that. I’m certain that if 7 Minute Drill wasn’t 2 packs of ass, he wouldn’t be taking this approach. There are other critiques but these are some that I wanted to highlight.

The second verse comes off as revisionist history in some parts, sour grapes in other parts, and overall confusion under scrutiny. Which sucks because it’s a fantastic verse from a technical standpoint. But when you’re trying to niggasplain like what he’s attempting to do here, it harms the overall message of neutrality. I hope and pray that The Fall Off has both Kendrick and Drake on it or neither. Because if only one is present without the other, it will be a horrible look for him.

Longshoremen got a tentative deal done with 63% pay raise, changing the entry rate from $20 to $32 an hour and top earners going from $39 to $63 an hour. Don’t let the propaganda of mainstream media and large corporations fool you. Strikes work. Unions work. That’s why corporations like Amazon are putting in so much effort to union bust. You affect the money and watch how quickly power aquiesces to your demands.

Imagine if other industries or even people in general went on strike for the necessities that we know would benefit the American people. The demands that we continuously demand the government to make but it’s treated as a re-election talking point only to be quickly forgotten about once they get in office. So now you’re stuck, championing a party that only cares about your plight in rhetoric only, while their actions show that they only care about their donors, the corporations that fund them, or the industries that bribe them. The people have way more power than they realize. We see other nations like France tear the whole country up when their leadership isn’t acting right.

We affect the bread and they’ll reluctantly open the basket, but it will open.

Saying “U my bm, I won” to your ex wife is a level of toxicity and selfishness that is otherworldly. Some men have that mentality of trying to impregnate a woman to hold her back and stifle her career/ambitions. You really need to look into these situations and ask if this person afraid to lose YOU or are they afraid to lose. In other words, some people stick to or try to go back to dead situations not because they are afraid of losing the person, but because of ego.

“It didn’t end the way they wanted it to end.”

“They left on a bad note.”

“They want to prove others wrong and show folks that this dead situation can be successful despite a plethora of red flags that they chose to ignore or even encourage.”

“You’re afraid of being alone”

Whatever you want to call it, you’re allowing your bruised ego to dictate your direction instead of allowing yourself to properly heal. You’re allowing your insecurities to fester into a bitterness towards your mate so instead of encouraging them, you choose to become a hindrance. Why lift up when it’s easier to pull down?

If you’re in this situation, leave it. If you’re promoting this situation, stop it. If you’re going back to this situation, park it. Forgive yourself, heal yourself,  then go to a therapist.
