The Don’s Trumpeters

This post is going to be direct and it’s not going to be long. This is to serve as awareness. What you do after this is up to you.

X, Facebook, Instagram and now Tik Tok, are the feds. Expect the next 4 years to be filled with propaganda from the right on ALL of those platforms. If you are doing business on those platforms, be mindful of that fact. If you are a political commentator who is opposed to the upcoming wave of misinformation, you have 3 choices:

1. fight on enemy territory where they will have the tools necessary to not only stifle your voice and your bread, but to direct harassment campaigns in your direction.

2. Go onto Bluesky and build your presence there. See if you can build that up to be a viable competitor to the Big 4. Go onto YouTube and build your presence there.

3. Build your own site independent of it all and build that.

The Left, and all political ideologies for that matter, did an absolute abysmal job at building their online presence but also pivoting to where media was heading instead of where it was. Now, you see that not only Trump finessed the people AGAIN by making them think that he saved Tiktok, which was the same play that he did with the stimulus checks 4 years ago. He’s not trying to appeal to the adults who are educated and have a semblence of critical thinking. He’s appealing to the people who are ignorant to politics. The ill-informed and the un-informed. The youth and the ignorant. You are fighting a battle with books when you should be in the streets. You can’t win a war in the office. You have to get on the ground and meet these people where they are and that’s what Trump did. He saw their pain, acknowledged it, and gave them a direction to direct their anger. Trump stated that he wants a “Colorblind society”. This is a dog whistle. Content surrounding race will be scrutinized more. Policies surrounding race will be scrutinized more. Late stage capitalism will be in overdrive and the gap between the haves and the have-nots will only grow larger and larger. This is the whitewashing of America because America hates to be confronted by its own sins and right now, folks are trying to run it up before the lights get turned off.

So going forward, realize that these platforms who are proponents of free speech, monitor which speech is allowed and which speech is stifled. Monitor which speech is allowed to go forth unchecked and which speech is removed.

The game is the game. Once you learn the rules, you will know how to move.
